Diane Les Becquets Author Visit, Library Title Feature, Summer Reading Program Update
Join us on Thursday, July 23, at 6:00 p.m. at the Manistique School & Public Library for a special author visit with award-winning, bestselling author Diane Les Becquets.
Les Becquets will discuss her newest novel, Where the Water Meets the Sky, which opens on a chilly night on Michigan's Garden Peninsula when a farmhouse burns to the ground. She describes the novel as a love letter to the Upper Peninsula, where her family has deep roots, and hopes it reminds readers of the healing and restorative power of the outdoors.
While writing the novel, Les Becquets was diagnosed with five brain aneurysms. After recovering from surgery, she and her dog embarked on a road trip back to Michigan, visiting many of the places featured in the book.
Books will be available for purchase and signing following the presentation.
We hope you'll join us for an inspiring evening of storytelling, conversation, and community as we welcome Diane Les Becquets to the library!

The award-winning, bestselling author of Hamnet and The Marriage Portrait returns with a soaring historical novel set in Ireland in the years before and after the Great Hunger. “A soaring, visionary narrative. . . . As the struggling men and women in Land endure defeat and distrust victory, it is their frailty as much as their strength that wins our sympathy and holds our attention.” —The Wall Street Journal
